Summary

The Four Horsemen are a group of famous magicians that consist of J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher), and Jack Wilder (Dave Franco). This group is known for putting on dazzling shows with an unorthodox twist. They steal from the rich and give to the poor. Or in their case, the members of the audience. After the magicians' first big theft of a French bank, federal officer Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo) begins the task of hunting them down and bringing them to justice.

The Four Horsemen won't stop until their job is done. The only problem is, no one knows what they're doing all this for. Not even them.

Will the Horsemen succeed with their tasks? What daring tricks are they going to have to do in order to achieve their goals?

Thoughts

Scale of 1-10:

I am an absolute sucker for movies that deal with tricks and misdirection. Movies like this and Ocean's Eleven are just so captivating to me. While there are certain things that were cheesy and awkward-sounding, I truly believe that this is a pretty good movie that I can honestly watch frequently without getting bored.

One thing I absolutely love about this movie is the cast. Especially Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson. These two are so good when they're in movies together. The same time I bought the two Now You See Me movies, I also bought the two Zombieland movies, which have those same two actors in them as well. I honestly didn't realize what I had done until I sat back and saw them. It kind of gave me a chuckle :-)

I believe that the ending is what makes me truly decide whether or not I like the movie and I got to say that the ending of this movie was PHENOMENAL! I honestly didn't see the few major twists coming and I was just flabbergasted.

If you haven't seen this movie then I highly recommend it!

Age Rating

Official Rating:

PG-13

My Rating:

12+

There's really only one scene at the beginning that causes me to make this 12+ instead of 11+. Other than that scene there really isn't anything inappropriate for younger viewers.

Language:

There are multiple words said throughout the movie. It's not every other word but it's still there. Those words include, "damn", "ass", "d**k", "s**t", and "hell".

Sexual Content:

There is one scene at the beginning of the movie where Atlas is making out with a woman. Eventually, she's in only her bra and underwear. The scene ends without things going any further. Other than that, there's really only innuendos throughout the movie.

Violence:

There are some pretty intense fighting scenes but the gore isn't really shown other than a little blood. About 3/4 through the movie, there's a huge car chase that ends in a really bad accident and the driver of one of the cars dying.
